Ao Suntory World Whisky
These days Suntory is a global whisky brand, owning distilleries all around the world. Suntory World Whisky Ao is a blend that brings together whisky from the five main whisky making regions in the world. It contains Scotch Whisky from Ardmore and Glen Garioch, Irish Whiskey from Cooley, American Whiskey from Jim Beam Claremont, Canadian Whisky from Alberta and Japanese Whisky from Yamazaki and Hakushu. The bottle itself is replete with symbolism. Ao is Japanese for ‘blue’ and symbolises the sea which joins all the continents, while the five-sided bottle represents the five different whisky regions that feature in the blend. It has a nose of vanilla, pineapple and wood, with a smooth, smoky and spicy palate complete with a sprinkle of cinnamon. The finish is complex with sweet smoke, spice and wood.
